2012 is the year to make a statement when it comes to your jewelry collection. Don’t be afraid to use one large piece and take it over-the-top. Be bold with cocktail rings. Be the center of attention with dangling chandelier earrings that reach your shoulder. Chunky bracelets with color and charms are FUN!
Making a comeback: the roaring twenties “flapper” floral designs – daisy is in! Accessorize with Art Deco flair and your style will be “in bloom!”
The color blue seems to be a fashion accessory this year.
Of course, classic is ALWAYS in style. Play it simple with yellow gold or pearls and you will still be glamming it up!

“In my artistic mind, this is a beaded version of a scarf – it has depth, texture, color and movement.”
-Kristi Young, Designer
This elegant, one-of-a-kind charm bracelet is vibrant with tones of bronze and gold and a splash of red. It was handcrafted using a a lovely eclectic mixture of beads and charms chosen just for this project. There are 56 “Significant” pieces that were collected, prepared and attached directly to an antiqued chain of metal links using hand wire-wrapping and a few jump rings.
This collection includes metal charms, vintage upcycled watch gears, vintage glass beads including Czech beads, amber Swarovski crystals, tiger’s eye, marble, sea shell beads, metal tags and balls, a gold cross, mini filigree balls…the list goes on. My husband said I should keep this one for myself, and he is right, but I already have too many bracelets so I should share.

This is the easiest test to tell if a pearl is an imitation or not. Simply rub the pearl lightly along the biting edge of your upper front teeth. If it feels sandy or gritty, it is probably real. If it feels smooth, it is probably imitation.
Although this test is not 100% foolproof, you will probably be safe, unless somebody is seriously out to fool you.
You can further inspect the surface of the pearl with a magnifying glass (10x is industry standard). Real pearls typically have a smooth finish, whereas imitation pearls have a grainy finish. This is quite the opposite from the tooth test where a smooth look and a grainy feel indicates that the pearl is real.
